MS Excel not opening in a correct format?

Dear all,

I have used ALV table in my application. When i used to open my data in MS excel, its opening in unknown format. Wat is the problem here?

I believe you are getting message like this

"The file you are trying to open 'abc.xls', is in different format.................................

simply click on yes and then open it and use save as and then change the file name from "abc.xls" to abc and change save as type from "single file web page" to excel workbook.

hope this would help as a interim
