Hi All,
I am new to this APO and looking for some help from this forum.
I want to know the differncebetween Time Series and Order Series. what do they mean actually ?
Thanks in advance
Prabha
Hi! Prabhat..
Demand Planning uses only Time series key figures ie. Every data stored has only a time stamp reference.
where as SNP uses both Order & time series . Order series key figure stores data with reference to an order(ATP Categoty) & time stamp

Hi Vaibhaw and Senthil,
Thanks for the response.
If I understand correctly about SNP then the data is released from DP to SNP. The result of DP is Forecast in terms of quantity based on historical data. so how can this forecast be orders ? so I dont understand the point that orders are input to SNP.
The result of SNP is production order.
Please correcdt me if I am wrong.
Thanks
Prabha

Hi Prabha,
Livecache is the special type of memory that has been used in
APO which has got very special characters in terms of data
transactions.
Depending on the storage of data in livecache memory, the
DP & SNP modules uses different types of series.
In demand planning, as we commonly use historical data for
planning purpose to plan the forecast which will varies with
time, the set of data are called time series and these time
series will be used for planning in demand planning
In SNP, as orders will be the input for planning in which the
value of orders cannot change with time, SNP uses order
series data.
Hope it is clear now. Please confirm.

HI! Prabhat.
DP genetated forecast is a time series data in a time series keyfigure.
This data is released to an forecast element E.g.(FA/FC etc.) so that SNP can access this data and perform subsequent planning. We use a release profile to transfer data from Time series key figure to an order.
