communication method in customer master

Hi all,

how is it used the communication method in customer master?

Does it have an impact in the priorities of communication strategy?

Let me explain with an example:

I created a communication strategy with the sequence 1 INT, 2 FAX

Then I used it in an output type with Transmission Medium 5, external send.

The customer has communication medium FAX, then it has an e-mail address and a fax number.

Even if i wrote FAX in the method, the strategy send an e-mail, just because the e-mail address is existent.

If i delete the e-mail address, the strategy send a fax.

So it seems that the strategy does not consider the method that I explicitly put in the customer master.

It works this is own sequence.

Thanks for your help.

HI Francesco Chioni

A communication strategy with the sequence 1 INT, 2 FAX. And condition record with an output type with Transmission Medium 5, external send.

Before triggering any output communication strategy checks sequencially 1 INT, 2 FAX, if email id present in customer master, email will trigger, else searching for FAX if present FAX will trigger else error.

So it is communication strategy and data in Customer master which decides the output medium.

hope this clarifies your doubt.

your observation is correct:

The first communication method for which an address exists in central address management is used
