division - make to stock or make to order help

i know if i go into the material master for a particular material i can specify if it is make-to-stock or make-to-order, but is there a way i can make a whole division fall in one of those 2 categories? if so, how??

Hey astromar,

This is not possible because division only specifies the material ie refrigerator , compressor etc and not the process type i.e make to stock or make to order.

With coding you can manipulate the standard process.

When ever you choose the make to order or make to stock in the material master then with the help of user exists you can change the division accordingly .

Hi,

I think it is not possible why means division is the product type and not the way of sale .

So for make to stock and make to order we can use the same material with respect to sales document type but in division case it represents the type pf material.
