Hi all,

I have downloaded the sneak preview from SDN and tried to install it in the local machine. But while installation of WAS, it is throwing an error like,

) in execution of a 'RegOpenKeyEx' function, line (67), with parameter (SYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesusbstor).

WARNING 2006-05-26 19:41:14
The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesusbstor' does not exist on the 'localhost' host.

WARNING 2006-05-26 19:41:14
The step setDefaults with step key J2EE_SystemCopy_OneHost|ind|ind|ind|WebAS|640|0|J2EE_SystemCopy|ind|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|J2EE_EngineEnterpriseDialogs|ind|ind|ind|WebAS|630|0|setDefaults was executed with status ERROR.

Hi Jawahar

I got the same problem - and have logged on as administrator ?

My host file looks like this

10.127.17.92 FSC701

127.0.0.1 localhost

Has there been any other ideas on how to fix it ?

Best Regards

Are you running this on a Windows platform?

If so, make sure that the user you are installing this under has these rights:

Act as part of the operating system

Able to increase memory quotas

Able to replace a process-level token

These items can be set under the local security policies of the server or PC.

I was able to solve this one.

Login to regedit

and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR

right click on USBSTOR and in the permissions enter the user thru which u want to install WAS or sneak preview and thats it
