Log file in Oracle

Hi All,

As like SAP log files stored in \usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\log if I am wrong correct it.And we can view system log through sm21

I want to know the log file path for Oracle.(Oracle log file path ,SAP)

Also I want the Oracle file system details like /oracle/<Ora SID>/......

oraarch file used for ..

orainit file user for ...

like way all oracle file system.

Hi Anil,

As Markus suggested it better to get an overview of the oracle file storage from SAP Installation documents or go for a DBA course.

For now in short /oracle/SID/ will have files like:

1. sapdata(1-n)

2. Oracle Executables or hte home directory to complete (/oracle/SID/102_64) if Oracle 10 is installed

3. sapbackup

4. saparch

5. sapreorg

6. saptrace

and this can vary from Unix to NT platforms.

That is the system log. Other logs are stored in the database (transaction SLG1).
