duplicate trip no ' are getting generated.

Dear all,

i hve seen that same trip no is getting generated to different pernr from different personl area and sub area. how to resolve this issue.this is a standart transaction pr05.have any idea??

Hello,

please check your settings for the number ranges (Transaction PR10)

I guess you have set up the same number ranges for different personnel areas.

dear siegfried,

what uhve said is correct.its same no range for diff PA's.now my doubt is that trip no should be unique.or the combination of trip no and pers.no shd be unique.pls expalin what is the exact concept of this trip no .what is its use in travel management and fi posting.

Hello,

technically the number range is based on personnel area. So you could set up the same number range for different personnel areas with the effect that you can have the same trip no. more than one time in the system.

B U T this is not recommended even SAP says the following in the IMG help:

Make sure that the number intervals of the number ranges do not overlap for different personnel areas, since problems can occur if an employee changes personnel area.

And the reason makes absolut sence.

So do not overlap your number ranges!
