Nope.

32-Bit is not supported any longer.

Thank heavens!

Our customer claims it was supported when they installed it. Do you know until when or what version it was supported?

Thanks,

Jose

To my knowledge it has never been supported and I also did not see any support revocation at all yet.

So if it had been supported it still would be (of course).

But instead SAP announced years ago that new product versions won't be available for 32-Bit anymore.

It's outdated and unappropriate technology nowadays!

Lars, thanks a lot for the information.

I guess the link for downloading the windows 32 bits version should be removed by SAP.

Why? Windows 2003 is still supported on 32bit.

Markus points out an important aspect here:

For older platforms we don't revoke the support.

It's just for new installations, for new systems for those the strategy is clearly towards 64-Bit platform.

Continuity of operations is a very important factor for SAP customers, so the ongoing support of platforms that had been supported in the past is basically a must.

This continuity is e.g. one of the reasons why there is still a SAP DB 7.3 and a MaDB 7.5 available.

OK, then perhaps mention specifically W2003 in the download link?

Hmm... about what download link are you talking?

The one in the download area here in SDN?

If so, then this is not relevant for SAP customers as they should get all their software via DVD delivery or the Service Marketplace downloads!

In the service marketplace download sections there are no restrictions given, since the Product Availability Matrix (https://service.sap.com/pam) contains all the release/support information.

In general, the PAM is the one single place to check for supported versions.

If you try installing a 32bit system on Windows 2008 you get at least two big warnings during the installation that the operating system version is "too new". You can ignore them of course.
