Hi Team,
I understand that when we upgrade Access Cntrol from v5.1 tov5.3 some data can be migrated ( eg: SOD Rules in RAR).
We also need to configure some data manually in upgrade after fresh installation of v5.3.
In Access Enforce which data i can reuse/migrate and which is the data that cannot be migrated.
(The business need is to retain all the request in Access enforcer 5.1 i.e.they should be visible in the v5.3)
Please help.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Charu
Hi Charu,
have you looked at the upgrade guide yet?
I think all of your data should remain intact.
If in doubt, I suggest you take a backup of your DEV system and try the upgrade there nefore you go for the productive system.
Kind regards,
Frank.

Thanks for your reply Frank.
I am referring to upgrade guide v2.0
To broadly summarise the steps for upgrade :
1]Pre upgrade procedures ( includes existing data backup*)
2]Uninstalling the older version.
3]Memory settings
4]Download and Install CUP files.
5]Import CUP roles
-
I feel i have understood these points---
6]Upgrade CUP ( Configuration tab of v5.3)
When i reach the Upgrade Screen in the configuration tab of CUP v5.3 what should i do BEFORE i click upgrade?
There is a box which i think needs to be inputted with some data...what is the purpose of this box?
7]Import CUP Config Data ( Initial Data Files)
If i assume that the data inputted in step 6 was the existing data...with step 7 will it be overwritten?
Please suggest.
Best regards,
Charu

Hi team,
I think i have either missed or misinterpretated some of the directions given in the guide.
Can anybody please confirm my understanding listed below:
1]Once i click upgrade , the tool pulls the old Access enforcer data from the database.I also belive there may be some exception(?).
2]The import of initial data doesnt overwrite my old data.
Thanks for your understanding.
Waiting for a reply.
Best regards,
Charu
