Hi
I need to upload some master data from EXCEL to an infoobject currently being used. Please can someone assist with how to go about to do this. Please provide me with step by step intructions.
Thanks a mil.
Niki
Hi Niki,
The order of master data load is Attribute, Text, Hierarchy.
Assuming you have different files for each of one of these,..let's see how we load attribute.
assume the excel file is saved as CSV file.
1. Create the infopackage, in the "external" tab select this input file, choose CSV as file type and enter "comma" as the data separator.ENTER at the "Name of file" text box after selecting the file.
2. Do a "preview".
3. Go to "Schedule" tab and schedule accordingly.
The same way do it for text and hierarchy as well.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Raj

hi
you have to use direct update while creating info source.give the name of the infoobject as a info source for which the master data(attribute, text and hiearrchy )should be loaded.
after assigning flat file as a source you have to create a appn component by selecting the text and attribute separately .
the remaining things are same as like flat file loading to cube.
things to remember
save the flat file as a .csv file and give ',' as a separater in external data.
while loading the flat file should not be opened.
the structure of fields present in excel file ,transfer structure and communication structure shouldbe same.
