Validation for WBS based on its System Status

Hi,

We had a requirement to restric the Profit Centre in "Project Definition" and "WBS Element". For this we wrote a Validation which is working fine. Now there is an additional request. the validation should not be trigerred if the Project or WBS Status is TECO or CLSD. I could not see a field for "System Status" in the standard list of fields available in Validations. So kindly let me know what are the options available to bring in this additional check for the Validation.

1). Can i include System Status in Validation?

2). If writing an exit is the only option then, let me know the exit which should be trigerred while saving the project through all the standard transactions (like CJ01 /02, CJ20N, CJ27 etc).
