A very rare issue ...

Hello BW Experts ,

This is a special case/ issue.

On R/3 side the WBS elements are having priority as I , W, Y.

WBS elements having priority = I are known as IOS WBS Elements .

IOS WBS Elements ( priority = I ) are at the top level. Below this level the WBS elements with PRIORITY W and Y.

The Equipment Number is maintained only at IOS WBS Elements.

Whereas for the WBS Elements which have PRIORITY W and Y do not have Equipment Numbers maintained on R/3 side.

Now in BW side we have been asked to copy the Equipment Number from IOS level WBS elements and assign it to lower level WBS Elements whose PRIORITY = W and Y.

How to do this ? Please tell us the logic of routine need to be written over Equipment Number in BW update rules if needed to solve this issue.

Amol,

I would suggest doing this by enhancing the extractor in R/3. Don't know what the exact routine should be but there should be some way of looking up the WBS hierarchy in R/3.

Hello Aneesh ,

Our users are not maintaining the proper data in R/3 side for WBS elements ( priotity W and Y ) Equipment number . So wee need to copy down it from IOS WBS to WBS below it.

This is not related to Hierarchy .

We can not copy Equipment Number from IOS to WBS ( Y , W ) on R/3 side . We have to do it in BW side.
