Hi All,
What is CVC in DP area?
What is the use of this CVC?
Thanks
Sravs
Hi,
CVC's are Characterstic value combination.
CVC,s are the master data of DP. Characteristic values are discrete names or numbers . For example, the characteristic 'location' could have the values London, Delhi and New York.
You need to setup CVC's for further planning purpose ex: to forecaste are to extract data.
If you want to plan the sales forecast are to extract the sales history then you need to have a CVC on what basis this data should extract or maintain. If you want to extract sales history bassed on ship to party, product, region and sales office then your CVC should contain these caracterstics. CVC formate has to decide based on the demand planning process once at the time of Implementation.

Hi Sravs,
CVC's are characteristic value combinations which is the combination of
more characteristic values which you want to plan in DP system which
will be used in forecasting process
These CVCs will be used under master planning object structures which
contains your plannable characteristics
The combinations are then valid for all planning areas based on this planning
object structure.
These CVCs can be either maintained manually in DP or manually upload
using flat file upload in infocube
Hope it is clear now. Please confirm
