error installing ECC6 on AIX 6.1

i am installing ECC6 on AIX 6.1, when i run sapint it gives me error:

iauxsysex.c:318: child /tmp/sapinst_exe.209324.1256978362/sapinst (pid 266368) has crashed. Executable directory is /tmp/sapinst_exe.209324.1256978362. Contact Support.

iaextract.c:895: child has signaled an exec error. Keeping directory /tmp/sapinst_exe.209324.1256978362

I am executing it by user root

Hi,

I am not sure but check compatibality of AIX 6.1 with ECC6.

I never saw SAP & AIX 6.1, till Date I worked on AIX 5.3 only.

Hi,

Please verify that you are using the latest sapinst patch as per note 929929.

Also check that your userlimits are set to unlimited, expecially for DATA ,STACK ,CORE and MEMORY

checked and still the same error

i changed the user limitation locally on the server and that solved the error, changing the user limitation through telnet session was not helping .

But it means you are not installing by user root.

well i am using user root but when i reboot the machine all limitation set back to the default value !!

As I know root is the admin user & has all authorizations. you should contact AIX Administrator for this issue.
