how to carry out the transports nor how transports work in mdm 5.5 ?

How to carry out transports in mdm ? nor is transports possible in mdm 5.5?

HI,

1. run MDM Console

2. mount mdm server

3. select repository to be archived

4. right button click and select item 'Archive Repository...'

5. as a result in folder '<MDM server installatio path>\Archives\' you will gave file *.a2a

6. copy this file and past into the same folder for server2

7. run MDM console for server2 and in context menu for the server select 'Unarchive repository' (you need to provide DB password)

MDM 5.5 doesnot support CTS+ which is part of MDM 7.1

In 5.5 transport happens in two ways as already explained- using a2a file and archiving and unarchiving in different environments OR by importing the schema of repository from landscape1 to landscape2.

Hi Pooja,

MDM allows multiple options to move ones repostiroy from one landscaep to the other.

The most familier option is to use the "Archive" option. Thsi option will move all the repository schema and data as a whole.

Another approach is to use the "Transport" mechanism, this will only move the schema of the repository, no data will be moved.
