We want to set up connectivity Between SAP BW and IBM Cognos 8 on AIX 64 bit v6.1. This step in the manual says:

To configure connectivity between SAP BW and IBM Cognos 8 components ensure that you install the SAP shared library file (provided by SAP) and add it to the library path environment variable as follows:

AIX: LIBPATH=$LIBPATH:<librfc.a_directory>

I found the librfcu.a in RFC_24-20000978.SAR from below:

My question

1) When I unzipped I could only find librfcu.a and no librf.a. Where can I find librf.a ?

2) Where do I copy this file ? When I unzipped the RFC_24-20000978.SAR file locally using sapcar it it created rfcsdk/lib. Where can I find rfcsdk in my SAP installation ?

3) Does this needs compile ? How do I compile it ?

Pls advise.

problem resolved.

The files exist as part of the kernel 32 for nw 6.40.

the manuel is Configuring IBM Cognos 8 to Use SAP | IBM® Cognos® 8
