A2A Vs B2B

Former Member

What are all the Major differences between A2A and B2B

In A2A(Inside our Corporate Boundary) and B2B(Outside our Corporate Boundary) we need to have the following for sure

1) Sender and Receiver Adapter

2) Message Mapping (if the source and Target structures are different).

What other differences we can list? In XI whats the different process that we need to take into consideration when we do B2B (File1 to File2) when compared to A2A (File1 to File2) ?

Thanks

HI Mohan,

Yes correct, but you need to identify other system landscapes . For this you need to have Party configured.

Some quick Tips-

-Check the Firewalls/Security

-Should have different system Landscapes in place and need to know the communication protocols/message formats between different landscapes to make the good design

-Knowledge of networks/firewalls is additional while designing the solution

Thanks Krishana.

Based on your answers I have two questions

1) you said :

but you need to identify other system landscapes . For this you need to have Party configured.

Question : What do you mean by I need to identify other System Landscapes?

How to configure a Party in XI?

2) You said

-Should have different system Landscapes in place and need to know the communication protocols/message formats between different landscapes to make the good design

Question : Why should I have multiple system landscapes?

Thanks

Hi

<i>Question : What do you mean by I need to identify other System Landscapes?</i>

I am not talking about SLD part here. For e.g your company is using SAP and the other company is using some Microsoft applications .. Now you need to generalize this. How can you communicate with them ? Is thru Internet/WebService or any other way of communication.. This is what I meant by System Landscapes. And we don't know about their system, then it is diffcult to integrate right ?

<i>How to configure a Party in XI?</i> Have given the SAP help for this--It will take sometime to read..

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0b355ae-0501-0010-3b83-8f2...

I have answered your 2nd question also.

Think, Company A is dealing only with Legacy Systems or Java Based applications, but Company B cannot directly understand COmpany A's format. So the Integration Broker like XI will come into picture. While integrating Company A should know how feasible it can communicate with Company B.. More in technical, is thru WebServices Industry Standard Adapters(Seeburger EDI)/(SOAP)/Java Applications(JavaProxy)/.net Applications etc..
