SMDAGENT User

Dears,

I want to clear some facts about SMDAGENT user.

1- Function SMDAGENT user in Solman 7.0

2- We are finding SMDAGENT in all netweaver 7.0 servers,So its function in these servers.

3-We were using ECC5 in our landscape that we upgraded to ECC6 now,We do not have this user in this system so do we need to create this user in this system.

Hi,

1) SMDAGENT user is the communication user to fetch data from SMD agent applications to SAP system (back and forth).

2) THe SMD agent will be installed as a part of Netweaver SAP installation (I believe from SR2). so you will find this user created as default in the system.(selection option in netweaver for SMD).

3) If your installation is not based on the release which comes with SMD as default(or delesected this step), you may not get this user. if you really want this user, Simply install the SMD (unsing stand alone installation).
