Upgrade 4.3 to ECC 6.0

How long should this take? What are the areas of concern? Typical environment: Dev-QA-Prod. Sandbox is available. I do not know the Ops System or Database. English and Chinese languages installed.

I hope you need to perform the unicode conversion in addition to your regular upgrade, as you are using chinese and english languages.

Hi,

The only realistic way to know the answer is to make a system copy from the production system to a testbed system and to do a test upgrade on this testbed sytem.

Why ? Because every customer system is very different from the other ones.

An upgrade project is several months long. It took us 4 months to upgrade from R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.

R/3 4.3 The client hasn't upgraded their system in years and now wants to go to ECC 6.0

Hi Steve,

There is no such release as R/3 4.3. 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, 4.5 and 4.6 are R/3 releases before ECC.

What is 4.3? There is no such release.

The timing is very system specific and depends greatly on hardware resources, amount of data, etc. Since you have a sandbox, this should be used for discovery (upgrade) to help answer your questions.
