Error in RFC connection!

Hi Experts,

I have a SOAP to RFC synchronous scenario.

SOAP <---> Xi <---> RFC <->ECC

Everything was working fine for some, Then few days back we are getting the following error in XI.

<SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: could not get a client from JCO.Pool: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=sapxxxxxx GROUP= xxxxx R3NAME=xxx MSSERV=xxxxxx PCS=1 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR partner 'xx.x.xxx.xxx:xxxx' not reached TIME Tue Nov 10 05:00:57 200 RELEASE 710 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 39 RC -10 MODULE nixxi.cpp LINE 3143 DETAIL NiPConnect2: xx.x.xxx.xxx:xxxx SYSTEM CALL connect ERRNO 10061 ERRNO TEXT WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused COUNTER 57</SAP:AdditionalText>

I have checked RFC communication channel settings to connection pool and everything is fine. Strangely it works fine some time. So the above error does not come every time.

What could be the root cause of this error? What is the best way to resolve it?

Please advice

Thanks

Gopal

Hi Gopal,

This is certainly a network Issue as you can find CPIC in error log....you have nothing to do with this.....when network will be up, this issue will be resolved automatically.

Hi,

It is because the end system might be down, or it might not be able to reach the end system due to some network issues.

Hi Gopal,

At that particular time, the backend system might have been down.
