ODS activation job taking long time to complete.

Hi BW experts!

We are facing a strange problem with one of the ODS while activation for quite sometime now.

The activation job remains active for a long time and the log goes like this,,,

Job started

Step 001 started (program RSODSACT1, variant &0000000000285, user ID ALETBDTD1C)

---

Log for activation request ODSR_41TN552OYEAOVLOM6DZ56LTF3 data package 000001...000001

Activation of data records from ODS object ZTO_SD06 sucessfully completed

The job gets stuck here, but the activation would have been completed in the ODS and even available for reporting.

The job will be waitin for the below 2 steps :

Activation queue for ODS object ZTO_SD06 has been deleted successfully

Job finished.

Is this because of a table space issue with ODS ?

Moreover this problem is happening with only this ODS while its fine with all other ODSs in the system.

Any help is appreciated.

There are many reasons, If it is happening every day probably it might be the design problem like choosing Data Fields and Key fields.

Second thing is loading issue try to split the loads with selection criteria by fiscal year or by company code.

Another reason could be as you said system resources problem please check with your Basis team.

this should solve ur prob

It might be the chance of invalid characters has been uploaded in infoobject , when you are uploading data to ODS. Even though the data is loaded successfully, it will give error in the activation .

So hav u seen any inforamtion in job overview regarding invalid characters.
