"Type of Device" in Device Category

Hi,

I could find "Only Device Info records Permitted; Multiple Ser. No. poss." as one of the options in the field "Type of Device" of

the Device category.

This means that system would allows us created only Device info Record for this device Category but same serial number can be used more than once.

I like to know, in which cases, this option would be useful ?

Here is the answer,

This option is used by the retailer, when devices of different distributors are used. So, there are chances for, devices of same category from different distributors, having same serial number.

But unfortunately, system allows to create same serial number device info records with same service provider more than once. There is no check.
