Dear all,
what is the difference between
QS21 - Master inspection Characteristics ( qualitative & Quantitative )
Though we create in same t-code QS21
Qualitative & Quantitaive ( Difference )
Let me know in simple words with just one good example
Regards
kumar
Master Inspection Characteristics is nothing but the parameters we test/analyse during quality testing for a particular material.
Take for example you are taking a sample from HCl solution. We test for its purity and also appearance like colourless liquid, light yellow liquid, etc.
Purity we measure in terms of quantity i.e. 99.9 %, 98 %
Appearance we measure in terms of Qualitatively i.e. Colourless, Light Yellow, etc. These are defined as Code Groups and then Selected Sets and then assigned in QS21 transaction.
Hence both are MIC only hence created through one T-Code QS21 but different in MIC Category as Quantitative or Qualitative.
Hope it's clear now.
Best Regards,
K. Raghavendra

Hi,
Qualitative : If any characterstic is meansured in property of material and decision to be made like Yes ,No Good, Bad or through Catlog .
Quantitative : Where result recording and desicion need to be taken in numeric .
In quality checking you have visual inspection and dimensional inspection
Visual inspection like scratch , shine would lie under Qualitative
Dimensional like size ,weight would be quantitative

Hi
Qualitative: Descrite Data
Referring only to the characteristics of something being described, rather than exact numerical measurement. 2. Indicative only of relative sizes or magnitudes, rather than their numerical values. A qualitative comparison would say whether one thing is larger, smaller, or equal to another, without specifying the size of any difference. As opposed to quantitative.
Quntitatative: variable data
quantitative means something that can be put into numbers, like: mass, density, volume. While qualitative mean thing that must be described in words, like: colour, softness..etc.
