Hi, we have 3 plants in one company. we treat each sales order as one project. sd and ps modules also implenting. in all plants we need to use startegy 20 mto. we want backgroung scheduling of mrp for all plants. in this scenario please advise whether we schedule mdbt for individual plants daily or do we need to schedule for individual projects? which is the prefered way doing mrp. please advise.

Dear Raju,

Go with plant level & plz find the settings for back ground MRP i.e MDBT

Scheduling Background Jobs for MRP

Transaction code : MDBT

click Create Variant button (specified a variant name and click continue).

Then fill in the following fields :-

Scope of Planning : Optional (refer to Note if you want to specify a plant grouping)

Plant : Your company Plant

Processing Key : NETCH

Create PUrchase Req. : 1

Schedule lines : 1

Create MRP lists : 1

Planning mode : 1

Scheduling : 1

Planning date : default date

Click the Back button and you will be prompt Save Values.

Type in a Description and click the Save button.

After creating the variant, park your cursor at the variant and click the Schedule job button.

Fill in the Date and Time value.

Click Schedule periodically and you are prompt to choose the period.

Click the Create button and you are done.

To check, you can click the Show Scheduling button.

Note :

Define Scope of Planning for Total Planning in 'OM0E'.

1. Choose New entries.

2. Enter a key and a description for the scope of planning that you would like to define. Save your entries.

3. Select the scope of planning and choose Sequence of plants/MRP areas.

4. Choose new entries and enter the plants or the MRP areas in the sequence in which they are to be planned.

The counter determines the sequence.

5. Save your entries.

You need to enter the plants in sequence so that system will plan all the plants materials in sequence.

Inn SPROProduction>Material Requirements Planning-->Define Parallel Processing in MRP

Here you maintain the server and sessions so that system will decide to run the MRP in different sessions so that MRP will come with results very fast

Using MDBT you can schedule background MRP run.

Just try by creating variant for scope of planning and schedule it through MDBT.

Hi,

Executing MRP at plant will consider all requirement in plant level which are not covered in projects.

Executing MRp for Project will be having limited scope within that project only.

Better you go for plant level.

Go for Plant level background MDBT, It will cover what requirement available at plant level.

Incase if u r go for project wise means, it is possible to any of the project.
