Dear all,
I would like to know if it is possible inSAP to hide some of the "not required" or "not to be used fields" in customer master data. If yes, please let me know what are the ways through which we can do this?

Hi,
Yes, it is possible to hide, set Mandatory fields in the customer master.
Please note, this can be done only for "Account Group" level.
Therefore effect is applicable to all customers created from that Account Group.
First get the relevant account group; you want to do the setting. Go to customer master from XD02.
Click on Menu option, Extras / Administrative Data
there you can see the relevant account group.
Now you go to below IMG path to do the change.
Logistics - General / Business Partner / Customers / Control / Define Account Groups and Field Selection for Customers
Go in.
Select relevant account group that you noted from previous step.
Double click on that & go in.
Under "Field status" section you should be able to see 3 fields as "General data", "Company code data", "Sales data"
These are the button options you see in the customer master.
To change any area, double click on the name.
Now you should be able to see each tab in those buttons in XD02 under "Select Group" section;
Double click on relevant field to do change to necessary tab.
Here you can do changes for that account group.
Suppress - To hide the field
Req. Entry - Set it to Mandatory
Opt. entry - Display the field & enable
Display - Display only, not data entry is possible.
Once you do changes save.
now go back to customer master and see the effect.
Best regards,
Anupa

Hi
Check the transaction OBD2.
there on the basis of Account Group you have the option to make the Customer Master field as Suppressed / Display only / Optional or Mandatory.
