Hi elena,
In such cases, you need to create an alternate sequence in the routing
with the alternate resource and CIF it to APO as PDS wherein the
alternate resource will get updated in your PDS
During scheduling, based on priority or cost, it wil pick up the alternate
resource based on the alternate sequence.
This will resolve your issue.

Hi,
If you dont want to use the Alternate Sequence, you can use Standard Workcentre Class 019 in R/3 and als0 maintain Classification on Resources and Recipes/Routings. This will give you ALternate modes in PDS.
But i have another questiuon for a Group regading the same,
I completly agree that Optimizer will reduce the Load to Other Resources based on Cost, but has anybody used heuristic for this application and if yes, can you please specify name of heuristic please.
Thanks
Hi Elena,
Maintain Production version for the alternative resource and CIF to APO.
If you are running Optimizer then maintain less cost in the main resource PPM.
If you are running Heuristics then maintain high priority in the main resource.
Then system first consider the main resource then alternative resource simultaneously
I think this will work. Please let me know.

Kishore Reddy.
