Hi
We have just completed technical upgrade of our SAP 4.6C system to ECC6.0 system. We want to use Adobe forms? We use ABAP. We know that ADS needs Java Stack... Please clarify couple of questions..
1. If ABAP+JAVA Stack is already there.. ADS already installed? or do we need to install it ?
2. If needed installation - What is the best solution... INstalling on the same server or installing on separate server?
Thanks
Srini

The Java component for ADS will be already installed. You will need to do some configuration depending on how you want to use ADS ie client authentication(SSL) or basic authentication.
2. If needed installation - What is the best solution... INstalling on the same server or installing on separate server?
This really depends on your business function. If you would like to use ADS from different landscapes eg ERP and CRM then it would be better to install a standalone JAVA AS system and configure ADS to be used in those environments. Another reason to install a standalone or separate server is availability of resources, a heavily used ADS system could take up a lot of resources. Not something you would want in an ERP environment.

Hi,
If your AS-Java is based on NetWeaver7.0 (2004s), ADS is included.
You can check installed components from the following URL.
[http://<AS-Java Server>:<AS-Java Port>/monitoring/ComponentInfo|http://yourserver:50000/monitoring/ComponentInfo]
AS-Java Port is 5##00 by default settings. (## is instance no.)
If you find a line of ADSSAP, ADS is installed.
Best regards,
TK
