How to print a colored ALV-Grid List?

Former Member

I'm searching for a possibility to print a ALV-Grid in full color, including background color of a single row or cell.

On top of this colored background we do have some symbols. They should be printed as well, (not only #po4# )

Any ideas?

I tried to print it directly, no go! I tried to print it to the spool first, and convert it with a special printer driver, no way!

I already tried you print in LOCL and convert it to a PDF with the windows printer driver, everything's fine, but the backgroud color of the row or the cell is missing.

Would be great to have a answer to this questions.

Many thanks in advance from Switzerland

Marc

Hello marc,

1 You must change the device type in SPAD.

We use the HPLJ8000

2 You must check the case Color printer in the Output Attributes tab.

It's ok for us.

Hy Thierry,

Thanks for your answer!

We tried this already....

We are able to print the list with the colored symbols and with the the colored head row.

But all die other rows or cells, where we use different background colors to symbolize differents kind of things remain white, (no color).

I thought i must be something with the drivers, but I can't find one, witch is able to print different background colors in a ALV-Grid List.

Would be a big help, if anybody know how to solve this issue.

Greetings

Marc

Hello Marc,

Yes we tried it, but the color are not exactly what we have at screen:

The zebra (blue and white at screen) is grey and white.

The header of colomn (orange at screen) is blue

you'll probably have to look at your printer programming manual, and adapt the print controls to get a better rendering. You'll have to repeat that operation for other printer models.

Hello,

I dont no really if the printer is programming manually.

Perhaps our administrator had programming the printer, but I m not sure...

I meant: read the book of your printer (it is usually provided for free by the vendor on his website).

The vendor explains exactly what is possible, how it is to be programmed.

The codes provided in the book need to be entered into "print controls" of the device type (SPAD).

For example some printer functions are not provided by SAP, like stapling, private printing, etc., but you may program them using print controls.

So, you may try to look at "background color" functionality in the book...
