I'm using NWDS 04s SP5.
When I set a table's compatibility mode to nw04Plus, the save generates a warning that setting the compatibility mode has been deprecated. Leaving it as auto does not provide the performance improvements that nw04Plus does. So is there another means of improving performance for actions on rows? Or is there another reason it has been marked as deprecated?
Thanks,
Cindy
Hi Cindy,
don't worry. Like the property name 'compatibilityMode' already says this new property was introduced in NW04 SP 13 to provide a new selection behavior without breaking the existing one.
In the next major SAP NetWeaver release the NW04s behavior will be the default selection behavior, this means there is no implicit lead selection change any more. Furthermore the compatibilityMode property will not exist any more (because the new behavior is the default one). Only in case an old project is migrated to the newer version this property will still be displayed.
In your case you can just set the compatibiltyMode property to 'nw04Plus' and ignore the deprecation warning.

Hi Bertram,
Which version will the property compatibilityMode be removed? After removal, will it be possible to use the old mode (SP12-, clicking any cell of the row for row selection) over the new mode (SP13+, only clicking the row selector for row selection)?
The reason for asking so is is because our users are already accustomed to the old mode.
Regards,
Tony
