Livecache server/client

Hi people,

If I want to install an sap system with livecache on separatea host. I need to install the livecache client on the host where reside the sap system and install the sap server in other host, it´s correct???

Hello,

You need to install the lineCache client on the "host where reside the sap system".

SAP notes:

822239 FAQ: SAP MaxDB Interfaces

649814 Updating MaxDB/liveCache client software

And the liveCache server on the granted to the liveCache host.

Please follow the liveCache installation guide.

You could see the liveCache installation guides at www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/livecache

For example SCM 7.0

"Installation Guide SAP SCM 7.0 Standalone Engine - SAP liveCache Technology 7.7:Windows"

Or

"Installation Guide SAP SCM 7.0 Standalone Engine - SAP liveCache Technology 7.7:UNIX"

649814 Updating MaxDB/liveCache client software

If you installed the sap system and the livecache instance on the same server,

Itu2019s dependent on what version of the system and what version of the liveCache you installed.

Please follow the instruction of the note 822239 and check if you have the minimum requirement

of the liveCache client software installed on the server for the current SAP kernel version of your system.

And when you installed the liveCache server the liveCache client software will be installed on the server too,

review more details in the referenced notes.
