Backup on SQL 2005

Dear All,

We planned to take backup on MS SQL Server 2005, ECC 6.0 is running on Windows 2008 Server. Backup to be taken in fileserver.

Could anyone suggest, what are all the options are there.

Hi Guna,

As per my understanding, you want to take SQL backup and the target location is UNc path.

If this is the case, Its possible.

Select your database in Management studio --> right click --> select backup it will ask for the target file name but it wont show your UNC path there to select directly suggest, configure network path for your target location.You have to type your UNC path and you should not get any warning like "path could not found continue any way?".Since its UNc path, Backup time depends upon your network performance.

You need to give your UNC path at destination

Hi Nagendra,

We scheduled backup thro' Maintenance Plan Wizard. There we specified the UNC path of the backup file.

Hi Pedro,

SAP ECC 6.0 is running on Windows 2008 Server with MS SQL 2005, we are having backup space in file server. (UNC path).

Could you explain how many options are there to take backup.
