Is it possible to have a 64 bit Database server and 32 bit application servers (Oracle & Windows) for a ECC6 installation?
Thanks
Hi,
We have a production R/3 4.7 server witfh the DB/CI on Windows 2003 Itanium 64 bit with 64 bit R/3 kernel
and several application servers on Windows 2003 x86 64 bit with 32 bit R/3 kernel.
We had to keep the 32 bit R/3 kernel because of a problem with the Oracle 9 client not available on 64 bit.
It works fine but we don't get the memory advantage of 64 bit on the application servers.
We will go full 64 bit when upgrading to ECC6.
Regards,
Olivier

I can see no issues with that... but to be fairly honest hardware is so cheap this days that you're better of upgrading your hardware to 64bit...
