Hi Gurus,
May I Know what are all the application types that SAP supports? If SAP doesn't support any of the required application types then how to configure them? Formats like ACCESS, VISIO etc.
Thanks in advance
Prakruthi
Hi Prakruthi,
generally you can maintain workstation applications for each file format. The important thing is that you have an application installed on your PC which is able to handle these files then. So you can maintain workstation applications in DC30 for Access or Visio files and use the parameter %AUTO% under 'Define workstation application in network'. With this parameter the
system hands over the control to the external defined application and opens the file.
Another important thing is that you maintain the correct value in the field 'suffix' in transaction DC30. Because this value is used as file extension for the local copy of the original.
Best regards,
Christoph

Thank you very much.
Is there any chance of loading the application software in the content server and open the originals from SAP in-screen, instead of having application on every workstation?
Thanks

Hi Prakruthi,
I think it might work if the application is installed on some server or network drive. But in this case you may not maintained parameter %AUTO% in DC30 but the detailed path for the application exe and you need access to the directory where the application is installed.
Best regards,
Christoph
