dnl_cust_prod1 not updating material group code description

Hi Team ,

We have an issue with dnl_cust_prod1.When we load this object to update material group code description it remains in 'Running status ' .Also it is not updating the description of the existing matetrial group codes in SRM.However once we had executed this in R3AS to load a new material group in to SRM and it had worked though the status was in 'Running' since then .

We use SRM 4.0.

Any ipnuts would be appreciated since it is becoming a critical issue.

Hi Muthu ,

The links you provided where quite useful for us.We did spend sometime checking out each of the transaction mentioned.Most of the entries in the tables related to middleware setup seems to be in sync with the quality server ( in quality we donot have this issue ).Is it that the middleware is CRM and initially the data loads from R/3 to CRM and then automatically to SRM.Because in the r/3 system in most of the middleware tables mentioned is mentioned .

Could you please provide us more information on how exactly this loading of dnl_cust_prod0 works and also onthe programs such as comm_hierarchy_delete_single/all.It looks like though all the rfc ,middleware set up is correct there is some kind of refresh which needs to be done .

Again thanks a lot for your guidance on this issue.Looking forward for more inouts.

Hi

It seems that you are updating some new prodcuts to SRM. Pl check whether you followed the below process are not.

1) Create MM material groups in ecc client. This will create a transport. Go to SRM Tcode R3AS and select the object u201CDNL_CUST_PROD1u201D from the list and run it. You can monitor the job using R3AM1 in SRM. This will bring the material group into SRM. This can be seen in TCode u201CCOMM_HIERARCHYu201D in SRM.

2) Once it is done. Go to IMG in SRM and go to path SRM> SRM server> Cross app biz settings> Account aassigmnet> Define GL code for Acc Ass Cat and Prod Cat. Maintain the GL code against this prod cat for all the account assignment codes. This is client specific setting and need to be done in every client by opening it. This GL code is given in the form in ticket.

3) Do a test and check if the product category is available for procurement in SC.

And check the RFC conntivity between the system.

Thanks for looking in to this issue.Yes we have done all the steps you have mentioned.We use SAP 4.6 C and SRM classic scenario.We don use material master for procurement in SRM ,so we only use material gropu codes and we are trying to update the material group code description from SAP to SRM.

We go to tcode R3AS and load object dnl_cust_prod0.However when we monitor using tcode R3AM1 we find the status is running since then .

Recently it worked when we had to pull in a new material group to SRM though the status was still in running.Now since we are executing to update description of laready existing code it is not updating.We arefacing this problem few month back onwards

Yes. In SRM 4.0 CRM only

I suspect some entries are missing backend crm tables only.

plz check it up.

just bit confused if we have to load the material group code then do we need to loads both dnl_cust_prod0 and dnl_cust_prod1??

do you have entry in comm_category table ?

or comm_hierarchy tcode

Hi Muthu ,

The current material group for which we are trying to update description exists in SRM .It does have an entry in comm_category table.

Quite sometime back there same issue had happened in quality server and old team members had taken some action such as executing the comm_hierarachy_delete_single.

The runtime error for the dnl_cust_prod1 was throwing soem error related to heirarchy

For this initially what was done was to make an entry in table COMC_PR_TOOL_REG and then they executed the program comm_hierarchy_delete_single.

Now since i cant directly try out these steps in production , i need to get more information on these programs and what exactly it does.

Looks like Rachel expects the changed Material Group Description to effect in SRM too.

If this is the case then need to run the report COM_CATEGORY_TRANSPORT pls.
