Hi Raj,

Can I know how did you perform your 32-bit to a 64-bit migration?

There's a very good note telling what you need/can do to migrate:

Note 960769 - Windows: Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit (x86_64)

We are running Windows 2003 32 bit .

We want to migrate to Windows 2003 64 bit.

I would like to udnerstand the testing requirements as nothing has been changed except the kernel layer

I would test

- backup/restore (yes, also test the restore)

- printers (if they are created on the SAP server)

Thanks for your answers , but it does not quite answer my question

Do we need to any functional testing. If so why. Since Kernel is changed do we need to test DBSL functionality , TP and other OS related stuffs.

What would be testing requirement for Java stack as JAVA Application code spread over file system (like SDM) plus DB

No - you answered that question yourself. The kernel is changed, not the application.

You'll do that implicitly. If the system comes up after the migration the transport tools will work also.

Make sure you adapt the parameters accordingly to a 64bit environment and use the correct JDK (the 64bit, not the 32bit). Since the Java code is platform independent there's nothing to check from application.
