Dispatcher is not connected to message server

Hi,

We are running AFS 6.3 with both ABAP and Java stack installed. While taking restart of the instance, the instance is not coming up. The dispatcher is running but not connected to message server.

dev_disp log as below

• ERROR => DpEmCalcParams: vmcj/option/maxJavaHeap 200 is not a multiple of one MB [dpxxtool4.c 82]

• ERROR => DpEmInit: DpEmCalcParams (-1) [dpxxdisp.c 9649]

• ERROR => DpMemInit: DpEmInit (-1) [dpxxdisp.c 9561]

• DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpSapEnvInit: DpMemInit

• DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***

Please let me know how to resolve this.

Hi,

Set this parameter in instance profile.

You will get the file on OS level.

<drive>/usr/sap/<sid>/SYS/profile/<sid>DVEBMGS<nn>_hostname

open the file in notepad and change the parameter and start the application.

Have you set the value of vmcj/option/maxJavaHeap to 200 or to 200M you need to make sure that the M is there.
