Means of Transport Type

Dear Friends,

We want to configure a Means of Transport Type in VL01N i.e. Field u201CTRATYu201D? Can anybody explain its complete step by step config, so that it is available in F4 option? We do not have WM Module configed, only SD. We would like to tell that in VHAR weu2019ve 10 options but in VL01N-> F4 of Means of Transport Type we get only 6 options. Also tell how is this possible.

Hi,

Let's go through your questions one by one.

You can configure it in the transaction VHAR.

It's just another Packing Material Type with "Pack.matl cat." as "A Means of transport"

To configure it; go to that Tx: Copy an existing one and create a new one.

Change "Pack.matl cat." field as "A - Means of transport"

Then it will appear in the in F4 option.

It's because you have 6 Packing Material types with "Pack.matl cat." field as "A - Means of transport" Other 4 doesn't have that (Those 4 must be having "C - Packaging materials").

That's why you see 10 in VHAR but appear 6 in the F4 help.

Lots of thanks for your reply. But plz let me know that is this the only config required to bring a new Means of Transport in F4? Secondly what is the significance of the fields: Number assgnmt (NRVERG), Int. interval (INT_NKR) & Ext. interval (EXT_NKR)? What shd be the values in these fields & what will happen if we leave them blank?

Hi,

Yes, that's the only configuration you need to do to bring that to F4 help.

Once you put "Pack.matl cat." as "A Means of transport", it'll appear in the F4 help.

Number assignment

Determines how the external number is issued when the handling unit is generated.

Int. interval

Number range interval that is used by internal number range assignment to determine the handling unit identification.

Ext. interval

Number range interval used to check the externally-issued identification of a handling unit.

If you set "Number assgnmt" as "A SSCC18 already at creation of handling unit", then you can leave those fields blank.

Please test it with some test data & see it from your self !
