SEVERE: couldn't connect to DB

I checked and found that Listener was not up and running, i fixed the problem and i retried the installation no luck, so i tried restarting the listener and i cannot start the listener.We already have one more SAP system running with Listener PORT 1527, for this system the listener port is 1528. The strange thing is im able to start the listener using sidadm, but with orasid i cannot start it, i get the following error

Hannes,

I meant to say that i was able to start listener yesterday, however today i have the issue of starting listener.

Yesterday i was able to resolve it after changing the permission in hosts file. only root user was able to read it so i gave 666 permission .

Now perimissions looks good but for some reason i cannot start the listener.

From Oracle's help:

oerr ora 12547

12547, 00000, "TNS:lost contact"

// *Cause: Partner has unexpectedly gone away, usually during process

// startup.

// *Action: Investigate partner application for abnormal termination. On an

// Interchange, this can happen if the machine is overloaded.

Check if database is still running.

Maybe your machine is too small for two SAP systems. Did you check hardware and software requirements?
