Hi Experts,
We are implementing SCM 7.0 and SCM 7.0 installation is outsourced. We need CTM as per the requirements. As you know we need iLOG in order to run CTM. I asked my installation guy about iLOG. They told me that they installed SAP SCM Optimizer 7.0. My question is 'SAP SCM Optimizer 7.0' is iLOG?
Thanks,
Naveen
Hi,
From a hardware perspective, CTM engine comes by default when you install the SCM 7.0. No need for any additional components. All you have to do is,
1. In IMG, activate the CTM engine
2. In SM59, check wether the RFC Destination is properly maintained.
Thanks,

Hi Naveen
Regarding on your question, SAP APO have used iLOG optimizer before in CTM, SNP etc.
But (I do not remember exactly ) as of SCM5.0 (?), all the optimizer move from iLOG to SAP developed
optimizer. So SAP APO including CTM does not use optimizer provided iLOG anymore.
So as someother people descrived, if you install SAP delivered optimizer(for CTM optimizer "CTM.EXE"), you can use CTM.

Hi Naveen,
SCM 7.0 uses iLog optimisation which develops the best plans and
schedules to maximize service, revenue and profits.
It copes with any number of operating constraints, so you have the
confidence to make the right decision at the right time.
is widely used to help business people make better decisions. It can
quickly determine how to most effectively allocate resources,
automatically balancing trade-offs and business constraints.
It eliminates the need to manually work out plans and schedules, so you
get maximum operational efficiency. You provide the information, and
ILOG Optimization does the work.

CTM is NOT ILOG. It is SAP code now. SNP optimizer will probably always be ILOG.
