Migrating from HPUX 11.11 on PA-RISC to HPUX 11.31 on IA-64

I'm perfroming a Homogeneous system copy to migrate a SAP Netweaver system 6.40 from HP 9000 HPUX 11.11 on PA-RISC to Integrity HPUX 11.31 on IA-64. According to the documentation, the only compatible piece here is the Oracle data files which are the sapdata<nn> file systems. The SAP and Oracle binaries will have to be installed.

What is not clear to me from the documentation is what happens if I want to use the /usr/sap/trans directory from the source system? is everything in /usr/sap/trans on PA-RISC compatible with IA-64? is it possible to migrate /usr/sap/trans from the source system to the target system in a homogeneous system copy?

Thanks.

/usr/sap/trans is not "migrated", you would have to copy it.

Check

When you say that you have to copy it, the question that comes at that point: is everything in the source /usr/sap/trans compatible with the target platform? What files should be copied?

Thanks.

Yes - it's compatible (no binaries) - and copy everything - or mount the directory. That directory is usually shared between test, qa and production.
