Hi
EP is the SAP Enterprise portal which is the UI(User Interface) that means the end user in the company will login into the
EP which opens the SAP screen.Instead of using SAP GUI the user will be using the EP .
all the roles are attached to the user bythe SAP BASIS team.
ITS : It is a component used by the SRM system. In SRM when you login thro' the portal ITS will acts as GATEWAY
between the SAP SRM and the SAP Portal screen.
In SRM 5.0 -you can publish the all the Templates thro ITS only

Hi,
EP stands for Enterprise Portal, in other words Buyer Portal itself.
ITS stands for Internet Transaction Server. Translates portal links and portal actions into SAP transactions. When you click on a link into the portal, you are accessing to a SAP transaction.
When you click on u201Cshop u201C link in the EP, ITS is in charge of translating this link into the corresponding transaction SAP, in this instance BBPSC02. Therefore you can click on shop on the EP, or you can go into SAP and enter BBPSC02, in both cases you will be shopping and accessing SRM.

EP is not only a user interface, it provides much more functionality like
Document management / content management system
Real-time collaboration scenarios like chat or application sharing
SSO to other SAP applications (or 3rd party applications which are able to handle SAP Logon Tickets)
Role based navigation and permission system
EP is mandatory in SRM 7.0

EP is the new technology used in New SRM releases ( SRM 6.0 & above)
ITS ( internet transaction server ) is the technology used in old SRM releases ( SRM 5.0 & below ) , basically the SRM user interface.
