SAP MDM DATA MANAGER ACCESS VIA PORTAL

Experts,

Could anyone plz let me know, how i can restrict the view of records for one user In portal [MDM DATA Manager].I have created a MASK for that user in MDM Data Manger and assigned it to a role. That role have in turn assigned to User .

This User when he logs in MDM data manger , he can see only the data assigned the MASK. But same user , when he logs into portal to access MDM Data records, he can view all the records.

Is there any way to rectrict his view in PORTAL , as his view in MDM Data manger.

Plz assist.

I have resolved the issue. Issue was w/t user role.mask mapping.

Hi,

Use the MDM user having restricted access in User Mapping step for Portal user i.e. Go to User Administration, search the portal user, navigate to User Mapping tab, select the MDM system and pass the login credentials of MDM user for which you have defined the mask.

Hi SK,

User mapping has to be established in portal .It is User Mapping that sets the connection between MDM and Portal.

Below listed steps need to be executed for setting user mapping -

1. Set up a Role for your portal user in portal. Pl ignore this syep if you have already created.

a. Select a role from the list in Content Administration > Portal Content > Content Provided by SAP > specialist > MDM Application > Roles and add it to your folder as Delta link.

2. Create User group in portal and assign them to user groups.

a.Navigate to User Administration > Groups. Create an User Group.

Assign the Role you created earlier in portal(Admin> Roles folder) to the user groups.

b.Assign portal users to user groups.

Use Admin access to portal for executing above steps.

3.Map User Group to MDM Repository User.

a. Navigate to Administration > User Mapping.

b. Map User group to repository user for your System Alias.

Portal User Group : User group that you defined in previous step

System Alias : MDM Repository

Repository User name/Access type : User name in repository which has restricted access to Mask.Set access type to Read Only/ ReadWrite.

4.Login to Portal as an User and check for restriction to masked records only.
