It is not possible to change the plant once network is created. Please create new network with your required plant. As the plant govern mandatory parameter for the network like plant & order type, You can only change the same at time of creation Once you save plant will grey out.

I understand we should not change the network Plant assignments due to valid reasons ..

Please tell me at the time of copying from a project how to change the plant in the network assignment .

As we have to create many projects from other existing projects which has the different plant assignemnet

Is the project profile is going to help....

Ya sure profile can help you reason being it having both Plant & Order Type & When you are copying project at that time before saving you can alwalys change the plant.

Hi,

Your project profile can help in this case. If you are copying projects and having a different profile for each of the copied projects you can maintain a validation in such a way that a particular project profile should only have a particular plant combination.

This will cause the system to prompt based on the message type mentioned in the validation. This way you can achieve your requirement.

kindly try and check. Hope it helps.

Hello,

Its a good question as copying from operative structures often copies plant and MRP controller leaving no choice to modify this. There are other practical considerations in terms of availability of master data in the new plant e.g. you may not have same name of work centers in the target plant also relevance of plant parameters may vary.

If all practical considrations are already taken into account then suggestion of using validation mentioned earlier is worth trying. However, I've doubts as typically, post copy, system will not allow to change plant and validation will come in action much later.

You can also evalute option of transferring data to MS Project, changing relevant parameters there and then loading it with Open PS just to create the same structures.

Best approach is to identify comprehensive structure and establish standard templates, if still possible.

Best regards,

Neeraj.

Hello

You need to develop the program for that. We have not used any BAPI or BADI only standard programming is there.

We upload the notepad file in which we give reference of WBS element and new plant. System replaces the already assigned

plant from the network of the WBS element given in the notepad by new plant

As Ashish has pointed that may be specific to his BP. But I strongly recommend that after creation of network to change plant is not recomended approach at all. Please read below link for the explanation.
