Item usage

Dear Fnds,

I gone thr the Previous Thread but i didnt get what iam expecting.

How System is determinging the Item Category whihc has Usage...

For Example: ORNORMFREE=TANN.

How system finding the FREE(From Where) and it is detemining TANN.

Hi,

ITEM USAGE was determined from the CUSTOMER MATERIAL INFO RECORD In VD51.

Please check the VD51 transaction for the customer material info record for your material and the customer combination.

When i maintain ,VD51 then only system can able determine Usage (Item category).

System takes item usage from sales tab at item level in the sales order,pls check.

Hi,

I am keep trying to find where is the Useage field is triggering in Sales order item.

RAS LEIC R102 IRPA IRRP

It is determining the IRRP Item category..But i do not know .How system has satisfies with Usage and it has picked in line item.

Can any one Elabrote on this.

Dear Venky,

The Item category USAGE is nothing but an ABAP program. Depending upon the different scenario we write code for determining a specific item category. As already suggested we maintain this on CMIR. Moreover the main functionality for which we use usage is determining the behavior of Item in while we process the documents.

Just check if the entry exists as :

OR+NORM =TANN

if so the sysem will determine without usage entry.
