Moving from EHP3 to EHP4

Has anyone experience moving from EHP3 to EHP4. Have heard that installing EHP4 was a big jump from ECC6 - almost like a ful upgrade, but wondered if anyone has gone from EHP3 to EHP4. We only want to do a technical upgrade, without turning on any of the new functionality, but really don't know how much effort would be required to do this. We have been told it will be more than installing support packs (a 3-week project for a small team for us usually) and less than an upgrade (4 month project for much bigger team for us). Would appreciate information on any experiences of installing enhancement packages, from technical and functional viewpoints.

Karen,

There are a few issues which make installation of EHP4 more involved than installation of EHP3. First, the Netweaver level is upgraded to 701 during the EHP4 installation. Second, the installation of EHP4 requires the use of Solution Manager, so if you have never done an installation via Solution Manager, you first need to get set up for that.

If you have not already done so, please review the information here:
