EDI 214 in shipping documents

Hi,

I need to understand how EDI 214 works in SAP, what transaction execute? What documents change? etc.

For now I do not need the technical part, I just need to understand the functionality of 214 in SAP.

I use deliveries and shipment documents only, I am no using transportation.

Since in our system I do not have message TRXSTA, I could not explore.
