Basic questions about Adobe form

Hi all,

I have some very basic questions about Adobe interactive forms and hopefully someone can help me out.

The requirements that we have are to allow reps to create an account report with many text information (e.g. executive summary, strength, weakness, objective etc.) We can definitely use notes type, but that will be a very long list of notes type.

One of the potential option is to use Adobe form... but I have a few questions:

1. Can an Adobe form be embedded in a tab in PCUI?

2. Would the user be able to easily go back and view the information entered?

3. Can the user easily go back and modify the information?

4. When actually printing out the information, can we print out the adobe form information along with other information in the application?

5. Where is the information stored. Is the information stored as part of the form? Or is it stored in specific fields in the application? (CRM, in this case)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hannah

Hi Hannah

1. Be aware that Interactive Forms is only integrated into Web Dynpro, not BSPs. You can embed a WD app in an iView.

2. That depends on the application. The NW technology certainly allows for it (in different ways), although this is not an Interactive Forms topic.

3. See 3.

4. If you want to print more than what's entered in the PDF, you need to have another template that integrates the additional information at the time of printing.

5. That's up to the application again. From a technological point of view, there is no default persistence even for the PDF. This requires coding.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the replies folks.

Markus, when you mentioned the functionalities depend on the application, what exactly does that mean?

The application here is CRM Account management.

User wants to be able to keep going back and modify/ view the information..... do you know if that's possible for CRM?

Does it store the information in the backend for CRM Account Management?

Thanks

Hannah

Hannah,

if standard CRM doesn't provide for your requirements (and they don't as they haben't shipped any interactive scenarios), the application that you want needs to be built and include these features - custom development for your custom app. Where you store the information then is up to you.

Hi Hannah,

1. Yes it can be inserted into a tabstrip as seperate iView.

2.& 3. make sure with markus meisl.

5. The Information is stored in Backend if its online interactive, if its offline form then its stored in the adobe form.

Thanks,

Raj.
