In order to implement High availability in existing landscape what are the best practices:

System details: ECC 6.0 (ABAP+Java), AIX 5.3 and Oracle 10.2

Hello Sunny,

> In order to implement High availability in existing landscape what are the best practices

It depends on the workload of your system, the available resources and the SLA.

For example we are clustering our db / central instance and the main RFC (for sequential EDI communication) application server with HACMP and two p570 servers. The database itself is also secured with Oracle Data Guard to be prepared for logical or SAN hardware errors.

Hello Sunny,

I think the redbook "HACMP/ES Customization Examples" is what are you searching for.

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg244498.html

Please check "Chapter 8. HACMP and SAP R/3" ... then you get an idea how to implement SAP in a HACMP environment.

Stefan
