SMD - Couldn't retrieve remote service.Pl.check that the agent is running.

Hi,

SMD agents are no longer available in Solution Manager Diagnostics.

2 days ago all of out SMD agents suddenly stopped responding in our

Agent Administration page. All agents went grey as if Solution Manager

could no longer reach them ( SMD Page->Diag.Admin-> Managed Sys-> Agent Admin-> Agents) .

When checking each servers agent they appeared to be online and available in OS level.

I have attempted to restart a few of them but that did not help. I have also restarted the Solution

Manager system and again this did not help. Any suggestions on where I

might look next? I can connect to the SLD via agent administration

just fine so I do not think that the SLD connectivity from Solution

Manager is the problem. The odd part is that all of these connections

became unavailable at the same time.

I also tried re-running the Monitoring System Setup-Wizard excluding the CCMSBISetup job.

It shows green as result. Restarted the SMD Agents, but no luck.

Planning to un-install and re-install SMD Agents.

Opened OSS message, but no response since 4-5 days.

Please advice any fix or resolution.

Appreciate your help.

Pl. respond at the earliest, as we are monitoring our system in PRD environment.

We could able to resolve the issue by ourselves. SAP still didn't responded to our OSS Message yet.

We were able to get the agents working again. The SMD_ADMIN user, used

to register the agents expired exactly 1 year from when the agents were

originally established. The user was created by the SMD setup wizard

for the monitoring system.

But, there is a question "Will future releases of Solution Manager

create the user only to expire in a year?" This seems odd and silly

thing for a communications based user.
