When I try to transport ID contents through CMS, all the objects (not just the objects of exported configuration scenario) get moved to production overwriting the existing data.
Anybody encountered this error previously? How do i prevent this from happening.
Huh,
That is interesting. Though never came across this problem. But just curious that wheather you followed this link:

let me know if you find solution.
Thanks.

Hi -
For ID objects, you should export again from your Consolidation environment (e.g. once everything is adjusted and activated). Once the export to CMS is successful, in CMS, in the assembly tab, when you click on Assemble Components..., there should be a Subset Assembly option. Need to use that to export that paricular scenario.

Jin

As per this link,
The software component version for which you want to deactivate the change-list-transport option has been assigned an XI track in CMS.
This is set to False for ID.. Is this a reason, why the entire directory gets transported from CONS to PROD? (though I can't fathom why this doesn't affect DEV)..
Jin, I do not have the option to export using CMS in my CONS environment.. You meant the java stack of the CONS environment right? Is this step specified in any documents?
It's odd that you don't have the option to export using CMS in your CONS environment. Double check your exchange profile settings relevant for CMS.
The document How To Transport XI Content Using CMS walks you through IR and ID CMS transports step-by-step, from DEV to CONS to PRD. Section 3.10 is relevant for the ID step-by-step.
It also has the setup/pre-requisites info to help you troubleshoot why you are not able to export using CMS in CONS.

Jin
